Customers

Add and edit customers

Every booking, quote, invoice and message belongs to a customer. Add one whenever someone new books or buys.

Add a customer

  1. Go to Customers and click New Customer. From any page, you can also use the + button in the header, then New Customer.
  2. Under Contact Information, enter the First Name (required) and Last Name.
  3. Pick a Preferred Contact: Email or Phone. The one you pick becomes required.
  4. Add the Email, Phone, Company Name and Website if you have them.
  5. Open the Address, Vehicles and Interested Services sections to add those.
  6. Under Additional Info, choose a Source, add any Notes, and turn on Tax Exempt if no tax should apply to their quotes and invoices.
  7. Click Save Customer. Their profile opens.

Add a vehicle

  1. Open Vehicles and click Add Vehicle.
  2. Use Search Vehicle to find the year, make and model. You can also browse, decode a VIN, or type it in yourself.
  3. Add the VIN, Color, Condition and License Plate if you know them.
  4. Click Add Vehicle.

Several phone numbers

Click Add another number under the phone to add more, and label each one Mobile, Work, Home or Other. Click the star to choose the preferred number. Texts and calls go to the preferred number unless you pick another one when you send.

Once you enter a phone number, a checkbox lets you record that the customer agreed to receive texts about quotes, bookings, invoices and job updates. It's optional.

Edit a customer

Open their profile and choose Actions, then Edit Customer. On the Customers list, the same option is in the row's menu. Make your changes and click Update Customer.

Tip

Bringing customers over from another system? Use the Import Customers icon on the Customers page, or Settings, then Data Import.

Good to know

Wrapstart doesn't warn you when you add a customer with an email or phone you already have. Use Find Duplicates now and then to tidy up.
