Set up and issue warranties

Warranties build trust. You set up each type of warranty once, then issue it to customers after a job.

Create a warranty type

  1. Open Resources in the sidebar and go to the Warranties tab.
  2. Click Create Warranty Type (or New Warranty Type once you have one).
  3. Enter the Warranty Name and Service Category (both required), then the Description, Default Duration, Coverage Items and Terms & Conditions.
  4. Click Create.

Issue a warranty

  • From a job: on the Jobs board, jobs that are awaiting pickup or complete show Assign warranty.
  • From a customer: on their profile's Vehicles tab, click New Warranty or + Add Warranty.
  • In bulk: on the Warranties tab, click Bulk Apply, pick the Warranty Type and Warranty Start Date, click Preview Eligible Customers, then Apply to N Customers. It covers customers who had a service in that category and don't already have that warranty.
  • Automatically: add the Select Warranty action to an automation, for example on Job Completed.

Each opens New Warranty. Check the details and click Create Warranty. Turn on Require Google Review if the customer should leave a review before the warranty is active. If you track film rolls in inventory, the Roll serial numbers field fills in from the job.

Send it to the customer

Creating a warranty sends nothing on its own. Use an automation on the Warranty Created trigger to email or text it, with the {{warranty_link}} tag for the customer's warranty page. When you issue one by hand without such an automation, Wrapstart asks Send every new warranty automatically? Click Create automation to set it up.

To send one again, open the customer's Vehicles tab, click the warranty and choose Email to Customer.

Find issued warranties

The Issued Warranties tab lists every warranty you've issued. Search by number, customer or service, and filter by Active, Expiring soon, Expired, Pending review or Voided.
